Healthcare Waste Component


The Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signed a project document “Protecting human health and the environment against unintentional emissions of persistent organic pollutants from combustion and open burning of health and electronic waste” with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) (GEF), with a view to implementing the emission reduction priorities for dioxin and furans contained in the National Action Plan of 2005 to meet the requirements of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).
