Coordination meeting in preparation for the operation of the central treatment facility for Hazardous Healthcare waste in Gharbia Governorate

The Medical and Electronic Waste Management Project implemented by the Ministry of Environment in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program and the Global Environment Facility held a coordination meeting with the officials of the Ministry of Health and the Environmental Affairs Agency in the Gharbia Governorate in preparation for the operation of the central treatment facility for Hazardous Healthcare Waste  that uses shredding and sterilization technology. The establishment of a central treatment Facility is one of the most important activities carried out by the project, at a cost of twenty million Egyptian pounds, with the aim of supporting the application of best environmental practices and the latest technologies available in the management of health care waste.
